In what language are the arias which are giving you trouble? Are you preparing them for performance? If you have a coach, s/he should help you get "off the book" efficiently. If you are studying them on your own, analyse the structure and write the text out graphically arranged in its structure. For example, if it is stophic, number each verse, or if it is binary, A -- B -- A, write it out that way, and make certain you know what every word and phrase you are singing means. Think of nemonics to help you as you go over and over the text in your head, first, independent of the melody, and later with the melody. The nemonics can be English words and images and they could be related to the situation of the opera. Know the whole story and integrate the character you are portraying and his utterances with it.
Just some thoughts. It works for me.
