Thanks Dean and Sheila:

The bagpipes always play Amazing Grace as they recess. It must be the only
one they can think of too! So that's out for me.

The kirkin' thing is where all the local expat Scots and those to whom their
Scottish heritage means a great deal, bring their tartans to church and they
(the tartans) are placed on the altar and blessed. Here we start out at in
the park at the statue of Robert Burns where they have a service with
readings and hymns. Then the bagpipes lead us into the church and the
service begins.

I've been singing this for a few years now and always go the
Celtic-in-general route, which means Irish of course. I would love to sing
something actually Scottish this time, but if not there's always O Riada's
hymns to fall back on.

Laura

PS: Dean, the arrangement is lovely!
