This is one area that I wish he would yield on. His conducting is
nothing to get excited about and I suspect it's only because of his
stature as a singer (and head to two opera companies) that he gets
away with it. He's pretty sloppy. A couple of years ago they did
Samson and Delila here in DC and he screwed up an entrance for Denyce
Graves. She shot him the most evil look that I have ever seen from a
singer!!
