PBS in the States is broadcasting a performance of Willa Cather's "Song of
the Lark" this evening; vocalisters might take some interest in this
production, though the NY Times gave it a thumbs down this morning.
Cather's story is about a young prairie girl who goes to the big city,
meets Mickey Rooney and puts on a show in the bar...whoops! I mean goes
to the big city with the intention of pursuing a career in opera. Check
your local listings...
