if you have been suffering from severe headaches because you have been
whacking yourself with a hammer and those headaches go away when you stop
whacking yourself with a hammer, is there any real good reason to resume the
whacking?

the only reason to take voice lessons is to become a better singer.
the only reason to return to a teacher at a school who is not doing you any
good, is if you have given up on your singing and now aspire to one of the
school's administrative positions.
