We had a thread recently on miking opera, in which several members said,
in effect, that a singer's technique tended to be compromised by the use
of a mike. How does it affect them in a recording studio, then, when
they are usually quite close to it? Does the fact that they can't hear a
monitor make any difference? And what about pop studios where (I believe
- I might be wrong) they are often wearing headphones while they sing
anyway?

cheers

Linda
