L'Invitation au Voyage or La Vie Anterieure by Duparc would have to top my list. I never can decide which one I like better, although La Vie Anterieure usually edges in first. Then, of course, there's Phidyle. (sigh) I don't think anyone else ever combined words, a vocal line and an accompaniment as brilliantly as did Duparc at his best. It's such a shame that he destroyed so much of his music.
