> Incidentally, does anyone (Dr. Messmer, perhaps?) know a good way to > recover one's high notes after a series of bad asthma attacks?
A lot depends on why the top notes were lost: coughing induce edema, reflux exacerbation, improperly inhaled steroids.
Without an exam, and assuming no pain, and assuming the asthma is cleared up, inhaled steam can help a lot. Vocalizing gradually up to the higher notes can keep the muscle tone up while allowing the folds to recover.
Patience.
