I remember this story my old voice teacher (Who studied with Richter's wife at the St. Petersburg Conservatory) used to tell me: they brought in this young little piano virtuoso (around 11 or so) to play for the Maestro, and Richter patiently listened with an amiable expression throughout this kid's recital. At the end, Richter got up and shook the young boy's hand, smiling as he said "Very well, very well, you did not miss a note. Maybe someday, in years to come, you might be able to do music."
Just thought I'd share :)
Pablo Romero ----------------- Bright is the ring of words when the right man rings them Fair the fall of songs when the singer sings them Still they are carolled and said on wings they are carried After the singer is dead And the maker buried.
