I have a student who is in a similar situation. I wanted something
that would "get her feet wet" with the dramatic aspect of her voice,
but not push her too hard. After much thought, I decided on "Son
Pochi Fiori" from L'Amico Fritz by Mascagni. I think she sings it
well, but at her jury she still had the comment that it was too heavy
for her at her age. Sigh...
