Hi everyone, I'd like to update you on my students with pitch problems. Many of them responded very favorably to starting with extremes of pitch (high in their range and then low) and made some pretty immediate progress from there. Once they got a note in their memory, they could almost always come back to that note. They are happier and I am happier - and I thank you all for your wonderful suggestions with this situation.
Next, I have an aria that I'm working on from Fidelio - Abscheulicher, wo eilst du hin?, that has a word discrepancy between scores and I'm wondering if anyone has done any research on this. The phrase is - "Des Mitleids Ruf, der Menscheit stimme rührt nichts mehr deinen Tigersinn". But, I've also got a score that has "rührt nicht mehr deinen Tigersinn". Does anyone know which one is historically correct, and if it goes against the correct use of the word? I think, "nichts mehr" would mean none more - and "nicht mehr" would mean no more, but I think that "nichts mehr" is what was written.
Thanks again for your help in the past, and for your help in this issue as well.
Have a wonderful day!!
