i think the casual opera goer is more likely to be fooled by the term
'dramatic tenor', thinking that would be a tenor who can act, than they would
be by the term counter-tenor. these poor dupes you have so admirably
championed these past few days, might be more likely to think the
counter-tenor is an 'anti-tenor'. and, although this might be confusing
dramatically, if the tenor's character and the ct's character are friends, it
certainly shouldn't present too much of a problem as the naming of an
instrument.
