I'm not really sure what you're saying here, but I can run with it and follow up my last message about gender stuff. As I said, what people consider natural and false is always going to be in reference at least in part to their culture's gender ideology.
Men in the US and continental Europe are expected to stay in chest voice for speaking at all times. Women can speak in head, mix or chest. There seems to be leeway in Britain, where men often float into head during normal speech. Any wonder there are so many countertenors there?
Anyway, back to the US and continental Europe. Out-of-the-closet gay men are going to be much less likely to adhere to traditional male roles, since they have a culture of their own, with its own spectrum of butch->femme. We all know gay men who have very lilting high voices, ironically, some of these men have low singing voices (think Gomer Pyle). So sure, it might seem much more logical for a gay man to explore the idea of singing countertenor and bucking the gender-status quo, since he's already probably getting hell for doing it in other areas of his life already.
