I actually find that the better my technique gets, the more problems I have during those 2-3 days per month, probably because I'm far more connected now to the lower body, and also more aware of the tinier sensations and nuances. It's even worse with the "monthly" congestion is augmented by sinus congestion. When that happens (as it did today at my voice lesson), I might as well just pack it in and wait 24 hours until at least the "monthly" congestion goes away. Otherwise, attempting to sing, especially anything where I have to move my voice, feels like I'm trying to slog through half-set concrete.
It's funny, I never had this problem when I used to support from the wrong place. :)
