I don't have time to write a page for Jerome Hines's book, but in a nutshell,
I approach singing as a musical and dramatic art. I find that helping singers
free themselves to be expressive physically and emotionally is a tremendous
aid to freeing the voice.

As longtime list members know, I got on this track 25 years ago when I first
worked with Wesley Balk, the guru of singer/actor training. His ideas changed
my whole approach and understanding of singing and the teaching thereof. They
inspired my doctoral dissertation. This has been a wonderful and successful
path for me and my students. I feel very blessed to have had such a great
mentor.
