EXACTLY. We should not encourage our young singers to imitate anyone, older
or younger. I am of the belief that young singers should sing material that
is for young singers, not attempt to vault themselves into heavy repertoire
from the get-go. Ms. Church has largely sung appropriate material - although
someone has told me that she sings "The Jewel Song" on her most recent
recording. Hmm, I wonder who her teacher has told her to imitate?? :)

Mike, this post was productive - thank you. I understand what you mean a lot
better than in your previous post.
