Well I'm stil thinking on this one. most of the poem consists of a discription of Cupid himself. I find it quite an intriguing picture of the god of love.... I think one could sum up the poem as a little "warning" - that love will come and burn in our hearts in a deceiving way. I still cant' make much out of it. And why is Cupid sitting by the fire fanning himself in the first place?

Thanks! I'll take a look at it. All the Strauss I can get... can't get Straussed-out, I don't think!
