We have previously had an IRC channel on Vocalist, sometime back in 1995.
There is currently a JavaChat room on the Vocalist homepage for anyone with
Java capable browsers, which I would guess is the majority. No-one seems to
use it. I used to periodically log on, and would be the only person there.
There was some suggestion about setting up a schedule, but I guess that the
e-mail type list is still most popular, especially with the wide variety of
time-zones that we all live in.
