we have to remember that e-mail is essentially a written form of
communication. things you say don't come over the same way as if you were
speaking to the other person, even on the phone, when you can introduce a
lighter or humorous tone to soften the message. it would be good if each of
us were to read and reread what we send before hitting "send", to make sure
it is what we really intend to say.
