I remember when Mariah and Whitney were on Oprah with for When you Believe, Whitney said that Mariah had some vocal troubles during the recording. When they asked Whitney what she meant, she said it was Mariah's 'time of the month.' Mariah was really embarrassed, and explained that during this, like you said exactly, most notably her range decreases considerably, and the best thing to do is rest.

Although this subject may be a little titchy for some, I was wondering whether other women vocalists are as badly affected by their period as I am. I lose almost all vocal control and body support some during and even some days before my period. This can be very trying during auditions, vocal exams and even lessons. Does anyone have any suggestions besides vocal rest? Sometimes it's not possible to rest the voice during my singing exams orconveniently reschedule auditions. Thanks, Katchia QLD, Australia ______________________________________________________
