OK, here's another. I finally got my copy of the "Book of Navy Songs" in order to obtain "The Rhyme of the Chivalrous Shark." It's a delightful old folk song about a gentlemanly shark who "eats neither woman nor child." (Tom Chapin sang it in the 1970 documentary "Blue Water, White Death".)
I know that no one would keep a man-eating shark as a pet, but this shark's rescue of a woman from drowning would certainly make him an "animal friend." :-) Besides, some nice scientist here on the West Coast has established that the average shark would much rather enjoy a nice plump seal for lunch.
