I love yoga. It is the greatest thing I have ever done for my body. I
think that the breathing is great for singing. It emphasizes deep
breathing, and breathing through your nose (I had a problem with breathing
through my mouth when I sing). I am not sure about the exhale (breathing
out with a whisper), actually I have been worrying about it. I don't know
how you all end up, but in my class we end with the corpse pose, then by
sitting cross-legged in the stereotypical yoga position, but we change our
breath. We breath through the nose, but we hold our tongue to our top front
teeth and exhale slowly through the mouth, pausing between the inhale and
exhale for a count of four. These two moves are the most restful for me. I
have also noticed great changes in my body. I am not only more flexible,
but I have not had any more back pain since starting yoga. I have also been
working on balance.
