Dear Molly,
My suggestion is not from opera and is certainly not humorous, but it is beautiful, unusual and lyric enough for young voices: Britten's "Canticle II/Abraham and Isaac". It is a haunting meditation on the Biblical story, with the tenor singing the part of Abraham, the mezzo as Isaac and -- most memorably! -- the two voices in close harmony as the Voice of God. Check it out.
best wishes, Marion
