Call the director! (Or his assistant). I usually give the auditioners a
week before I begin calling. Not only does this often get you an answer,
but it lets the auditioner know that this is something you are really
interested in performing in, which just might even give you an edge if
you're lucky.

I say it will "often" get you an answer, as I recently spent literally a
month and a half after auditioning for a local professional choir calling
once a week until they finally said "no thanks". I would begin the calls
towards the end there with "Hi, this is your favorite alto pest!" I
explained to them that I had other singing opportunities that I'd been
invited to do and that I really needed to firm up my calendar soon; they
understood but had their own agenda. At least they were friendly about it.
Good luck!
