Dear List:
I'm rewriting this e-mail under a different heading, hoping that it will go through this time.... Does vocalist have like a post monitor who sorts out what is acceptable to the list.... I'm only asking because I wrote the e-mail w/ a misleading title I think, so it might not have gone through
.... Anyway my basic question is twofold.

I'm having the worst intonation problems... I don't know if it's because I've been on hiatus for 8 weeks not singing or having a lesson, but even listening to old lesson tapes I'm off pitch a lot. My specific question is how can I combat this problem? Are there certain exercises or practices I
can do or things to listen for?
Secondly, my Italian diction teacher basically ripped apart my Italian pronunciation on Voi Che Sapete. She said the goal of diction for Americans is to sound the most Italian that we can.... i.e. American w/ an authentic Italian accent. On the first day she told the class that we should only
listen to Italian singers doing Italian and never English speakers.... I'm wondering if that would really help??? Any thoughts???

Thanks
Al
