I, too, just gave up (as in about a month ago) computers for singing, and the effect on my voice has been astounding. I went into computers for the money, but found it just sucked the life out of me, so I decided to follow my heart and do the starving artist thing. But despite having little money, I have never sung so well. I think it's because I'm so much more relaxed, and can fully concentrate. Of course, when what little money I have runs out in a few months, we'll see if I'm still relaxed, but in the meantime, I couldn't be happier.
Has anyone else out there managed the transition from regular paycheque employee to singer, and how did you end up supporting yourself for the first little while before your singing career started providing adequate income?
