I thought the original poster (Spinto in Upstate) was asking more along the lines of whether there was any realistic expectation of a career at or above the level she was singing before. She was touring in a company, singing nationally, etc. I didn't think she was asking whether or not to keep
singing.

Maybe Anne will clarify? We have had some discussions about marketability of older beginner or returning singers, dearth of competitions for singers older than 30 and so on. This may be more germane to her question.
