This is not a technical answer to the question of "right technique", but I
have found in my voice study that a lot of what determines the right
technique is realized when one is able to know by sensation what steps will
give the singer their fullest resonance and most efficient support.

Hi,
I'm new to the Vocalist mailing list.
I've read through most of the back issues but I still have questions.
One question is this :

1). How can you be sure that you're actually *using the right
technique....if there's no one here to *tell you if its correct or not ??
VAR OOOOOOOO M ........... (Shoes flying past my head)

My young daughter is the performer. It's very difficult for me to explain
these techniques to her. (not that I pretend to know them myself)
She may already be using the correct techniques. If so...I'm only confusing
her.

2). I've been warned that a lot of the self teaching tapes or videos can be
more harmful than helpful. i.e. you could hurt your vocal chords by not
having
somebody give you correct advice....or not having anyone to demonstrate to
you what you may be doing wrong ? Any thoughts on this ?
Thanks in advance,
Donna
