Thank you very much for your reply. Their saleman was apparently misinformed regarding the hospitals - they also mention barber shops! His suggeston was to place the light at the air "outtake" of a central air conditioning system, where it would destroy all airborne molds which passed over it in recirculation. They do not claim to touch growing molds, only airborne.
I am always grateful for your professional viewpoint!

UV lights do not make a significant difference.
They may inhibit some of the mold reproduction but remember mold typically grow where there is no light, and light cannot go around corners, UV or ambient.
I can tell you that they are NOT used in hospitals.
