How could I forget Irving Fine's settings of Gertrude Norman's verses: "Childhood Fables for Grownups"? I love these and can never talk any of my students into singing them. Each is dedicated to a different composer.

They are:

Polaroli (the polar bear)
Tigeroo
Lenny the Leopard
The Frog and the Snake
Two Worms
The Duck and the Yak

They are vastly entertaining on all levels, and especially the first three are very appealing to children as well. Published by G. Schirmer.
