Hi,

I wasn't really paying any attention to this thread but just caught the part
about women's deep voices. I have had a naturally low voice all my life and
never thought about it until this episode: When I was probably in my early to
mid 20's, I was in a grocery store when I told the older fellow behind me he
could move in front of me if he wanted since he has so little to purchase and
my cart was full. He appeared truly shocked and responded (too loudly for my
comfort), "Such a pretty woman...with a man's voice."

This man should hear me when I have a cold! :-)

I am an alto although I have a good range. My easiest, most relaxed (totally
effortless) voice range is low. So is my speaking voice.
