Yes Jennifer, you are absolutely right.
The approx 10Mb/minute I mentioned is for a WAV recorded at 44,100Hz ,16bit Stereo, 172Kb/s ( CD Quality ) WAVs in Win95 can be recorded at varying compression levels down to 8,000Hz, 8bit Mono, 8Kb/s ( lower quality than a telephone )
So, depending on what range of frequencies exist in what you are recording and depending on whether you want a stereo recording, etc, you can record to a WAV file much smaller than 10Mb/minute. It all depends on what kind of quality recording you are looking for at the end of the day.
