Hi. 24 too old? Baloney! I'm 49 (and a half in fact) and I'm working on my degree...my "Associate's" in fact. And at part-time, guess how long it will take me just to get where you are.
But you're in the right place. There are plenty of us folks in the 40+ category on this list who are working towards a degree/career in music. I too knew I always wanted to be on stage from about age 10. Why am I not further along? Long story and you can check the archives, but just let me say, having gotten back into music has been more therapeutic than any antidepressant or counselling I have received.
Find a good voice teacher and still sign up for those classes at the college. If you're refused admission to the school in the classes of your choice because of your age and not your ability, call a lawyer. (Tell them first, though because just knowing you're planning to call a lawyer might be enough to change their minds. But don't let them trounce on you just because you're there when they might not have wanted you.)
