Hi: As a teacher of song & dance classes I can tell you one thing...if you are trying to achieve what you see Britany Spears and others do on videos it will not happen live. They lip sync to pre-recorded tracks and then when they dance they do not sound winded. Firstly...if you are working on proper breathing techniques and diaphragm control in singing you can build up your stamina for breathing which also works when dancing. Anytime you are dancing in between verses during instrumentals you must keep breathing steadily...most singers tend to hold their breath or shallow breathe while dancing which will make you short of breath much sooner. Also....when singing you must make sure that the movement enhances the singing but isn't so aerobic that you can't possibly do both at once. Musical theatre people are able to sing and dance at the same time because they spend hours and hours rehearsing and building up their stamina for these tasks. In Crazy for You they can sing and tap dance and it's great! Before competitions I have some of my singers sing and walk, jog and go up and down stairs while singing to build up their stamina. It's tough to do unless you use the "tricks" so many pop stars are accustomed to using. Good luck with everything...singing & dancing is SO MUCH FUN! Jacqueline
