You may not feel you are straining your voice, but the sore throat is a clue
that something is wrong. If it happens often and over a long period of time,
vocal strain is probably the reason, rather than a one-time sickness. The
solution, of course, is to learn less stressful ways to sing. That usually
means finding a good voice teacher or choral director who can work with you
individually. Good luck!
