I'm nowhere near a rep divo (as indicated by my offerings); but,
I'll stake a claim for the following:

"Johanna" from Sondheim's Sweeney Todd may be considered
powerful & engaging - to some...especially when Cris Groenendahl is
singing the song.

Or how about the errant knight's anthem to his lady "Dulcinea"
from Man of La Mancha? Maybe not...

And although the song was penned by Moises Simons in Spanish -
there is a good English translation of "Marta" that might approach the
criterion.

As for a song fitting the established requirements...but for a man...
...I'll state the song "Joey" from Most Happy Fella has got it hands down.

Wishing all the happiest (and healthiest) of holiday seasons.
