I've left this one alone in hopes that it would go away. When I moved house last year (to a singer-friendly apartment) I used the movers from hell (a total surprise because I'd used them on an earlier move and had been very pleased, which was why I hired them again; who knows what went wrong - change of management, perhaps?).
Not only did they break stuff, but two boxes went missing, never to be found again. One box contained toiletries, etc., that were annoying to lose, but not that big a deal. The other contained virtually all of my cassette tapes - including the Vocalist tapes and all my own live performance tapes. Frankly, I suspect that the movers dropped both the boxes (I say this based on the several breakages I found among things in other boxes) then "lost" (read: trashed) the contents, figuring it wasn't worth it to 'fess up.
Unfortunately, the tapes that were lost also included the Master Tape, which I had completed after two false starts (the first, I taped with the wrong tape type set on the recorder; the second time, the recorder's belt broke and I had to replace the whole unit), but which I hadn't started dubbing.
I've been living in the (increasingly vague) hope that these boxes would turn up again, but after bugging the bejeezus out of the moving company for several months now, I've given up hope, and am now trying to extract some monetary compensation without having to actually hire a lawyer (who would, frankly, cost me more than the recordings were probably worth...monetarily).
So that's the fate of the last Vocalist tape. Frankly, given all the complications with the tape recorder and then the movers, I figured it was Fate (Karma) telling me something: i.e., that tape was not meant to be (at least not produced by me).
My apologies to all for not mentioning this sooner. I truly was hoping the boxes would turn up again, but I imagine that after a year, I should just resign myself.
