Well Dave,

My first thought is that this is not an ideal audition aria. It does not
work well out of context. It's one thing to sing it in a studio class, but
not very impressive as an audition aria. "Der Vogelfanger bin Ich..." is a
better aria to audition with; better yet, "The hanging scene is the best
piece for audition," if you plan to audition for Papageno specifically.
