This reminds me of my mezzo friend. Melissa and I did several recitals
together. She'd always remark how it was difficult for her to sing after I
sang (I'm a soprano) because the low notes weren't as easy to do. She had
to concentrate on not listening to me at performances! I'd guess mentally
you are "singing along" and the cords, for her, just tightened up (or
something.)
