Don't know the original text, but a gorgeous, very impassioned duet for 1st and 2nd soprano by Mendelssohn is translated as "I waited for the Lord, He inclined unto me!" I sight-read it with a soprano 5 or 6 years ago, as a sub, so I don't remember the publisher/what work it came from/etc. I do seem to recall that it was part of an anthology of "Sacred Duets" -- but again, alas, I can't remember anything more except the glorious melody and how satisfying the piece was to sing. (As a matter of fact, if you find it, I would love to hear back from you exactly where it comes from.)
Best wishes, Mezzo Marion
