How YOUNG would be TOO young you think, to start training at?

If you are old enough to write this line you are not too young to begin vocal training. As for
other pre-teens it depends upon your desires and drive and ambition. And, of course, finding a
teacher who is aware of the pliable, developing vocal cords (chords/folds) of a young person and who
doesn't make-believe the young singer is an adult.

The earliest I have started a kid out was at age five but I usually average between eight and
eleven. I want to start a young person in training before they have much of a chance to pick up bad
habits from the myriad conglomerate of singers one can hear on the radio. Once a youth learns to
style her voice to copy her favorite singer that habit becomes very difficult to break. Learning is
fun and painless. Unlearning is not fun at all.
