As a teacher I have always stressed the importance of
rounding out your discipline and not studying in tunnel
vision. I believe singers need dramatic studies and
movement (ie dance of some sort) to free them up
as singers. Although I was raised in the "diaphragm
method" I have expanded my technique as new and
unique individuals come into my studio. My broad view
is to create singers who can produce a relaxed and
pleasant tone along with a confident and entertaining
stage presence no matter the style of music they choose.
My dream is that they would all trust themselves and me
to the point that they could achieve this all the time.
