Australian coloratura-lyric soprano, Yvonne Kenny, sings with all of the
qualities that you described. Try listening to her Handel Arias CD; it's one
of my favourites. She is a particularly good example as she maintains not
only flexibility and lyricism, but also great breath control, throughout her
entire range.

Barbara Bonney is another great lyric soprano. She is in her element
singing Strauss operas but I hear that she prefers to concentrate on singing
Lieder.
