A true four ocatve range is unusual, but not unheard of and unfortunately, even if one does have a four octave range, there would rarely be use for most of it. Much ado is made about range, but in truth, for most purposes, range just doesn't matter that much as long as one can sing the range of one's fach very well. I have rarely been asked what my actual range is, except by other singers who are just curious.
