Thanks Karen,
After my L'elisir opera chorus rehearsal last night, I discovered one of the

main reasons I was so displeased with the sound. I didn't phonate properly in

my mask. Tom has been trying to get me to use more of a nasal, snarly, type
of sound in order to get it forward, and I didn't even attempt to do that in
the recording. When I was phonating properly last night, it made sense, was
more easy and the high notes weren't 'pinched' or strained. So, I have
already begun to learn from it. I am sure Tom will have a whole lot more to
say about it as well, and I will be all ears for his advise.

It's interesting that after talking to him, he told me that he was tempted to
tell me I wasn't ready for it. But being ADD and a tenor (I know you are all
cringing) he knew that I needed to experience it myself in order to really
learn from it. Nothing like first hand experience instead of word-of-mouth to

teach you the best lessons.
It would be so much cheaper to learn from other's mistakes...oh well.
