Yes, I have and if I understand the implied question from your subject line, yes, I suppose it sounds like a fair imitation of Billie Holliday's sound. For my own taste, I have never really liked this kind of sound, although I deeply envy the ability that Billie and other great jazz singers have to improvise and "back phrase". I love just about every other song on "Smile" except this one. I especially like the contemporary ballads " Calling You" and "Everything I Do" - great examples of a classical singer who is truly flexible enough to "cross over".
I wonder how I could get Michael Kamen, the arranger/conductor/producer on this cd to write gorgeous arrangements like this for me, hire an orchestra, get the packaging and marketing...
