Hello! I consider myself relatively informed about
this particular subject... at least as well as a
lay-person can be. As far as the ketogenic diet, I
would proceed with extreme caution. Most people who
need this particular diet have some medical reason for
such radical diet changes. I will say that diets such
as "The Zone" and Weight Watchers can be manipulated
to include less carbs with great success. Ketosis can
be damaging, especially if one stays in ketosis for an
extended period of time. It's also hard on your body.
(I speak only from experience. I am insulin resistant
and I use a ketogenic diet to help control my weight
and hormones.) Unless you have a medical problem, I
will suggest that you consult your doctor (A VERY
IMPORTANT STEP!!!!!!!!!!!!!!) and suggest your
interest in a low-carb diet. If anyone would like to
