| From: Opera Diva Subject: How toPost? SIEGFRIED in MA. To: vocalist Send reply to: VOCALIST <vocalist>
I've read the last 10 digests, and so far find this forum very interesting. I've tried to submit a posting using the "submit" button on the home page, with no success. Now I'm trying a regular email. All I wanted to do was tell you all about the fabulous singing I heard in Mannheim, Germany at the Premiere of SIEGFRIED on Jan. 30th. John Treleaven jumped in for the sick Wolfgang Neumann as Siegfried, and did a GREAT job! He really sing the role, instead of barking it, as so many tenors here in Germany do. His acting was also very sympathetic. He got the rousing ovation that I felt he heartily deserved. Jukka Rasilainen also sang the Wanderer beautifully. He was my first Holl=E4nder when I sang Senta in Flensburg in '92. He's gone on to make a big name for himself. John Treleaven studies with Anna Reynolds and Jean Cox, as do I. Another product of their studio is Leandra Overmann, who sang an extraordinary Erda. Her bottom notes sound like a dramatic baritone! Anna keeps telling her that she doesn't need to give so much on the bottom, but it doesn't sound at all forced or pushed, and her register changes are fairly smooth. Seems miraculous to me! Is anyone interested in hearing this kind of "review" of what I see in Germany? __________________________________________________ http://im.yahoo.com
