FYI:
The pope certainly was NOT infallible in the 4th Century. The concept of papal infallibility was adopted only in the 1870s, practically five minutes ago in Roman Catholic terms. And it was intended as compensation for the loss of the Papal territories in the unification of Italy, so it was more a *political* matter than sacred.
Also, the concept of infallibility does not mean that *everything* a pope does or says is infallible, only definitive statements on RC Church doctrine.
