| Subject: OFF-netiquette-importance of using quotes From: Jessica To: VOCALIST <vocalist> Send reply to: VOCALIST <vocalist>
Hi List,
Lately, I've noticed a lot of response posts which do not use quotes to indicate what part of a previous post the new post is in response to.
Sometimes I will catch a response which sounds rather compelling, but it is written without previsou post quotes, and without quoting, others will have no idea to what the new post refers. In the Vocalist Netiquette, there is a section on quoting and a specific request to use quoting (snips, not entire posts in most cases) so others reading can follow along. Since Netiquette is not sent out regularly, I just wanted to throw this out there as a friendly request. Without quotes, the list can quickly become confusing and inefficient. Though I try to keep current, I can't read every post of every topic, so when something catches me eye, I especially appreciate the quotes so I can catch up easily. I have a feeling I may not be the only one in this boat.
Just a thought,
Jessica Los Angeles
